The Sompo Foundation’s mission is to impact positive and sustainable change in the areas of education, health and wellness. We uplift and invest in organizations who prioritize equitable access and resources, particularly for underserved populations.

The Sompo Foundation was established to enable Sompo to formally give back to communities globally. The establishment of the foundation allows the company to make a more strategic investment in social causes, coordinate our charitable efforts, and focus on specific causes and communities globally for a more significant and lasting impact.

The Foundation is overseen by its board of directors and a leadership team responsible for its day-to-day operations.

The Foundation is funded by Sompo with a commitment to have a $100 million impact over 10 years. An initial contribution of $10 million was made in 2024.

The Foundation will focus its giving in two key areas: Education and Health & Wellness. The Foundation’s Board of Directors and Leadership Team developed the mission and high-level areas of giving following a review of Sompo’s charitable and business activities worldwide.

Our long-term goal is to enable the Foundation to accept grant requests from organizations and other entities that align with our mission and goals. Requests will go through an application and rigorous review process prior to any award being made. When ready, additional information about this process will be available on the Foundation’s website.
