Scope, priorities, and giving guidelines
Scope
The Sompo Foundation’s priority is to positively impact the world through supportive partnerships with select nonprofit organizations who align with our mission and philanthropic focus. Priorities areas are those where Sompo employees and customers live and work. Beyond financial support, we actively search for opportunities to engage as volunteers, advocates, and board members.
We believe employee engagement is critical. The Foundation leadership is made up of global employees who represent the diverse needs of cultures and communities. Sompo employees are empowered to support their charities of choice through our robust Matching Gift Program. Additionally, volunteer opportunities allow employees to demonstrate their individual commitments globally.
Philanthropic Priorities
Our giving priorities reflect who we are as an organization and the positive change we hope to impact. While we understand that there are many important opportunities and charitable organizations across the globe, to achieve the greatest impact in our areas of focus the Sompo Foundation has a strategic and narrow giving approach.
We will highlight our philanthropic partners to bring awareness to issues within our priorities areas while celebrating the meaningful work and impact being championed every day. To share information about your organization and the global work you are doing, please complete this online form.

Health & Wellness
Disease prevention is critical to a long and healthy life. We will invest in organizations who provide access to safe, clean, and healthy environments, options, and education.
Mental health plays an essential role in our quality of life and overall health and well-being. We will invest in organizations who provide access to supportive systems, mental health resources, and awareness and prevention programs.
Disaster Response
The Sompo Foundation will respond to unforeseen and widespread catastrophic events in areas where employees and customers live and work.
